Paul joined Ian Moir and Company in December 2013 at associate level in recognition of his experience and ability as a criminal defence solicitor. Having trained at one of the busiest criminal defence practices in the West of Scotland, Paul thereafter broadened his skill set working with a busy firm who also dealt with proceeds of crime cases, family matters and childrens hearings.
Clients value Paul's straight talking and his honest assessment of
their case. Paul has gained a reputation as one of the most sought
after and professional young lawyers in the West of
Scotland.
Outside of work Paul is a keen footballer and particularly enjoys
spending time with his children.

Ian Moir LLB, Dip LP, NP
Ian Moir graduated from Glasgow University in 1991 and has specialised in court work ever since. He has focused principally on criminal defence work, representing clients in courts throughout the country and even submitting appeals to the UK Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights. He also has a keen interest in family matters, Fatal Accident Inquiries and representing people facing problems under the Proceeds of Crime legislation.
Ian is also convenor of the Law Society of Scotland's criminal
Legal Aid Negotiation Team, dealing with the Scottish Legal Aid
Board and the Scottish Government on all issues regarding legal
aid.
In his spare time Ian is a Trustee of a charity, and enjoys golf,
football, hockey and spending time with his family.

Paul Burns LLB (Hons), NP, WS
Paul Burns is one of the best known criminal lawyers in Glasgow. For many years he has practised criminal law throughout Scotland. He was one of the first Solicitor Advocates appointed in Scotland. As a Senior Solicitor Advocate, Paul has presented cases in the High Court of Justiciary and also in the Court of Criminal Appeal.
He was formerly the convener of the Legal Aid committee of the Law
Society of Scotland, President of the Society of Solicitor
Advocates and chairman of the Legal Defence Union.
In his spare time, Paul is interested in aviation, history and
politics. He enjoys spending time with his family at his summer
house on the Scottish islands.
